Pains of sorrow don't occupy my mind,
Yet neither desire for
happiness, I find.
The end is known, yes,
I do admit,
Yet, to fear of death,
I don't commit.
Many thorns have
pierced my heart,
But there’s no
stinging pain, no dart.
Though my mind may
suffer through,
I have no bitterness in
my life’s view.
Life's path is indeed truly
tough,
Yet, with company,
it's not rough.
Night ends, yet not
the dawn,
No sun will rise in
this old lawn.
He claims to be my
friend so dear,
Yet, my essence, he
can't peer.
Jasmine blooms sold in
the life's spree,
Yet, there’s no
fragrance, can’t you see?
Life keeps moving
forward in its stride,
But in my direction, still,
it hasn't allied.
A green lotus blooms
in my heart within
Yet, some glowing deity
isn’t seated in
When the body rests in
peace serene,
Yet, enlightenment, hasn't
come within.
